# Apple Reminders

> Have the reminders Italic drafts land in Apple Reminders on your iPhone.

Italic adds reminders to Apple Reminders, so they alert you wherever your
other reminders do. Chat on any device and your workflows can draft a reminder, but
only the Italic iPhone app can add it. There's no account to connect.

## Turn it on [#turn-it-on]

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Apple Reminders">
    In the Italic iPhone app, open **Profile → Connectors → Apple Reminders**.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Allow access">
    Choose **Allow access to Reminders**. If you declined before, choose
    **Allow in iPhone Settings** and turn on access there.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Pick a default list">
    Under **Default list**, pick where reminders go. Until you pick one,
    they go to your default list in Reminders.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Make a reminder [#make-a-reminder]

Say "Remind me to buy milk at 6" or "Turn this into a to-do". Italic drafts
the reminder, and approving it (**Add Reminder** on the iPhone) adds it to your
default list. Name a list to use another one: "Add milk to my Groceries list"
goes to Groceries when you have a list with that name. The draft shows where
it's going, such as "Reminders · Groceries".

Italic can add reminders with notes, a due date and a list. It can't change
or delete your reminders.

## From the web, your Mac and workflows [#from-the-web-your-mac-and-workflows]

On the web and the Mac, a reminder draft has **Add reminder**, **Edit** and
**Discard**. **Edit** changes its title, notes, list and due date. Once you
approve it, Italic wakes your iPhone, which adds it without Italic being
opened, and Italic tells you which list it used. A locked iPhone adds it once
you unlock it.

Workflows can make reminders with the **Create reminder** action. Its **List**
picks from the lists your iPhone or Mac reported; until one has, type a list's
name. A reminder from a workflow that runs automatically is added the same
way, in the background on your iPhone, as long as you've already allowed access
to Reminders. Its Lock Screen activity reads "Adding the reminder…", and asks
you to open Italic only if your iPhone couldn't add it.

With App 321 or earlier, your iPhone adds these reminders the next time Italic
opens.

Apple Reminders is in **Connectors** on the web and the Mac too. Its page has
its permission and shows your default list, which you can pick only on the
iPhone.

## Permission [#permission]

Apple Reminders has the same **Ask every time**, **Allow without asking** and
**Off** choices as other apps. See [Connectors](/connectors). With **Off**,
Italic doesn't add reminders in chat or in workflows.
