> Connect your Google accounts so Italic can handle your Gmail and Google Calendar.

One Google sign-in covers Gmail and Google Calendar. You can connect as many
Google accounts as you like, such as a work and a personal one, and Italic
can send from either and read both calendars.

## Connect a Google account [#connect-a-google-account]

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Gmail or Google Calendar">
    In **Connectors** on the web or the Mac, choose **Gmail** or **Google
    Calendar**. On the iPhone, open **Profile → Connectors**, then **Gmail**
    or **Google Calendar**.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Sign in with Google">
    Choose **Connect Google account** and allow every permission on Google's
    screen.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Add more accounts">
    Choose **Connect another Google account** for each one you want to add.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Callout type="info">
Google shows "Google hasn't verified this app" while its review of Italic is
pending. To continue, choose **Advanced**, then **Go to Italic**.
</Callout>

The account then appears under **Google accounts** on both the Gmail and the
Google Calendar pages. **Remove** takes it off both and revokes Italic's
access at Google.

## Gmail [#gmail]

Italic can:

- Search and read your email, in every connected account.
- Send email from the account you choose.
- Look up someone's address by name. See
  [Email people by name](/connectors#email-people-by-name).
- Move an email to Trash. This is always a draft you approve, even with
  **Allow without asking**.

It can't delete email for good, or change or delete your contacts.

Try "Find the email from Dana about pricing" or "Email Sam that Friday
works."

There's no default sending account. Italic sends from the account you name, or
the one the email you're answering came to. Otherwise it asks which, and the
draft shows the account so you can change it. A workflow's **Send email**
action can name the account it sends from.

If an account says **Reconnect to let Italic read mail**, choose **Connect
another Google account**, sign in to that same account and allow every
permission, so Italic can search and read it too.

## Google Calendar [#google-calendar]

Italic can see your events, to answer questions and spot conflicts, and add
events to the calendar you choose. It can't change or delete events.

Try "What's on my calendar tomorrow?" or "Add lunch with Sam Friday at noon."
New events go to the **Default calendar** you pick on the Google Calendar
page, unless you ask for another. Setting Google Calendar to **Off** stops
Italic reading your calendar too.

Workflows can add events with the **Create calendar event** action.

## Google Drive [#google-drive]

Google Drive works in the Google accounts you connected for Gmail and Google
Calendar, but each account connects Drive on its own: on Google Drive's page,
choose **Connect Google Drive** beside an account. Google asks only for Drive,
and the account keeps Gmail and Google Calendar. Removing an account removes
its Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive.

Italic can search your Drive and read Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs and text
files when you ask, and save a new Google Doc to My Drive once you approve it.
It can't edit, move or delete your files. Workflows can save a Doc with the
**Save to Google Drive** action.
