# Slack

> Have Italic post a message or a direct message in Slack, as you.

<Callout type="warn">Not available yet: Slack is being tested and isn't open to customers yet.</Callout>

With Slack connected, "Tell #launch the deck slipped to Friday" or "DM Sam
that I'm running late" works from chat or after you record.

## Connect a workspace [#connect-a-workspace]

In **Connectors** on the web or the Mac, choose **Slack**. On the iPhone,
open **Profile → Connectors → Slack**. Choose **Connect Slack workspace** and
allow Italic on Slack's screen. If your workspace needs an admin to approve
apps, ask them first.

The workspace is listed with your name and email there. Choose **Connect
another workspace** to add more.

## What Italic can do [#what-italic-can-do]

- Find the channels you're in and the people in your workspace.
- Post a message as you, to a channel or as a direct message.

It can't read your messages or channels, edit or delete messages, or post
where you can't post yourself.

When more than one channel or person could be meant, Italic asks which, such
as "Which Sam?", and drafts nothing until you answer. The draft shows the
workspace, who it's to and the text, with **Send**. A message sent after
Italic had to ask always waits for you, even with **Allow without asking**.

Workflows can post with the **Send to Slack** action, to the channel or
person you pick in the workflow.

## Permission and removing [#permission-and-removing]

Slack has one permission for all your workspaces. See
[Connectors](/connectors). With **Off**, Italic doesn't look anyone up or
post in Slack.

Choose **Remove** beside a workspace to revoke Italic's access at Slack.
Drafts and workflows that post there can't send until you connect it again.
